Beta launch - explore & find places nearby based on proximity and reviews

Businesshug shows you what's located nearby and ranks places based on their proximity to other places. This technique allows any user to find a place in a great location near lots of other places quickly and easily. After a year in development and lots of feedback, today we are happy to introduce Businesshug Beta! Visit Businesshug Beta »

Our story began in 2009, when we both flew from different parts of the world to spend our New Years Eve in Chicago. We were new to the city and wanted to quickly find out where the most popular local places were close to our hotel. Every night we would spend countless hours looking at an online map, searching for nearby restaurants, and then accessing each restaurants website to see if they were worth visiting. Read more about our story on our about us page »

Using Businesshug, you can quickly browse any US city for nearby places and find out more details about any location; such as user reviews and contact information.

Let's take a look at a Hotel booking example. After partnering with Expedia, Businesshug supports all hotels in the US, so a traveler may wish to use us to make a hotel booking decision faster by finding a hotel located near a bar or classy restaurant. Another one would be if your family is going to travel to New York City but your kids are picky about their food so you need to find a place to accommodate all of your family's appetites. Businesshug tries to make that simple. And since we are also partnered with CitySearch you can read real life reviews right there without having to do any extra work.

While driving....

.... We are noticing a lot of problems with 3G and 4G while driving in The Virginia mountain range. Using apps that require an internet mobile connection is useless here. This makes us think about how location based applications should behave without the internet. Hey!! Give us 4G everywhere , please!!!

We were also using the GPS on our phone for navigation which was a very good tool and worked way better than the internet connection. As far as our app we were able to find a nearby restaurant at a highway exit which was super but we still needed to work on the speed and size of the data because it was a bit slow.

Our service goes public today!
